Bratislava, 19 September 2019: As part of a project funded by Civitates, Democracy Reporting International and MEMO 98 have been further developing methods for monitoring social media in elections. As part of the project, civil society organizations in Austria, Portugal, Croatia, Poland, Romania and Slovakia were supported to monitor the respective election campaigns on social media channels in their countries and to apply new methods.

Armin Rabitsch from Wahlbeobachtung.org and Rania Wazir from Vienna Data Science Group (VDSG) / Data4Good presented the joint project as well as first results of the monitoring of the electoral campaign on social media channels in Austria.
