On 8 November 2018, election-watch.eu (wahlbeobachtung.org) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the partnership between the European Parliament and election-watch.eu (wahlbeobachtung.org) in the context of the 2019 European election voter information campaign.

The European Parliament and election-watch.eu (wahlbeobachtung.org) have the common goal of providing impetus in the run-up to the election and motivating as many EU citizens as possible to get involved and act as multipliers in the context of the campaign.

The main objectives of the partnership with regard to the European elections are:

1.     Voter information for young and first-time voters including preparation of background materials
2.     Workshops with eligible voters at schools and in trainee programmes on the European elections, electoral systems and understanding of democracy
3.     Strengthening democratic awareness and understanding of democratic institutions and instruments
4.     Strengthening motivation to participate in democratic processes, including at European level
5.     Organise events on the European elections with politicians and young voters in cooperation with the EU Liaison Office
