Atlanta, 22 January 2024: The Convening Committee of the Declaration of Principles (DoP) for International Election Observers recognised Election-Watch.EU as an endorsing organisation at its last meeting in Addis Ababa hosted by the African Union.
Endorsers of the DoP meet annually to share experiences, discuss methodological questions, and address challenges to elections, democracy, and election observation. The DoP Convening Committee Members especially The Carter Center, the National Democratic Institute (NDI), the European Parliament, the European External Action Service, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), and the International IDEA, supported Election-Watch.EU’s application. Election-Watch.EU has been added to the list of endorsing organisations, which can be found on the website of The Carter Center. Copies of the Declaration in a number of languages are available at NDI and & ODIHR.
Election-Watch.EU is at the nexus between international election observation methodology and citizen-led election reform advocacy in EU Member States with the aim to contribute enhancing the integrity of EU electoral processes, together with its network of international election observers and likeminded organisation.
Election-Watch.EU with its Austrian branch wahlbeobachtung.org has been already an endorsing organisation of the Declaration of Global Principles for Nonpartisan Election Observation and Monitoring by Citizen Organizations, and the GNDEM – Global Network for Domestic Election Monitors since 2017. Election-Watch.EU thanks its Focal Points and Country Chapter Members as well as colleagues from like minded organisations for their continued trust in teaming up with us.
