Prague, 3 – 6 September 2021: From 3 to 6 September the Board members of Election-Watch.EU held their annual retreat in Prague to discuss recent achievements and to develop new projects for the period of 2021 – 2022. The agenda included future activities in Austria, such as a presentation of the research study survey on polling staff (in cooperation of wahlbeobachtung.org and VIECER) at the Austrian parliament , as well as a new round of discussions with political stakeholders for electoral reforms in Austria to take place in Vienna in autumn 2021.
In addition, project options on the European level were explored for the next bi-annual period. Election-Watch.EU has started its comparative study survey on accessibility rights in cooperation with the European Disability Forum (EDF), relying on Election-Watch.EU’s European network across 27 EU member countries. Further, the production of new voter education info-graphics for the upcoming elections in Germany were planned. Another key issue of the retreat was Election-Watch.EU’s new membership in the European Platform for Democracy (EPD) involving related opportunities and requirements.
