Brussels, 30 June 2023: The Election Observation and Democracy Support (EODS) project invited Election-Watch.EU to present its experience and expertise regarding Citizen Election Observation in the European Union (EU). The webinar on 30 June 2023 was attended by more than 60 participants with a wide electoral background, ranging from former EU Election Observation Mission (EOM) Deputy Chief Observers and Core Team members to newcomers.
Moderated by EODS Training Coordinator Jordi Barrat, and following the keynote speeches by Armin Rabitsch and Michael Lidauer from Election-Watch.EU, a lively Q & A session evolved, including the topics of out of country voting, electronic voting, compulsory voting, and voter turn out in the European elections, among other themes.
Election-Watch.EU made reference to its past publication: Mapping Legislation for Citizen and International Election Observation in Europe: A Comparative Analysis on the Basis of OSCE/ODIHR Reports, which was published in the Nordic Journal of Human Rights in 2017, and the latest EPDE publication, which updated this information in 2023.
